Kalmes Hilltop Food Brew - Menominee

Yes Kalmes is located in the median of Highway 20 giving traveler's from Galena and Dubuque the option to pull in for a burger and a beer. They have their regulars who come in to watch sports and chat with the employees but they are welcoming to folks passing through. I have enjoyed the Chipotle Burger and the Mushroom Burger. One with regular fries, one with the seasoned waffle fries. Rick has had the steak sandwich and a burger. Burgers are fine the combo of the chipotle sauce, cheese, bacon and the one onion ring was very tasty. The Mushroom I should have asked for grilled onion instead of raw. Still good flavors. Cash only. No draft Beer. Pepsi products including Diet Dew. Good choice for a quick meal on our Chicago/Oelwein trips.

Great food with good prices. Back deck is a great place to sit out and eat on a summer evening.
