We found that it was difficult and expensive to eat desserts in the restaurants, and so we went after our meals to walk along the endless avenues and found small places to have some ice cream. This place was recommended by our guide and so when we went around the corner and saw we had to go in. Our first trip in was a little tricky as the server did not speak English and we do not speak Spanish, so we found it a bit amazing trying to choose the size, type and number of flavors and pots of ice. However, the second visit was much better than the server spoke English and we cracked on advice what we wanted and how much etc. Big ice, though a bit expensive, but hey everything in Argentina was expensive
This ice store on the pedestrian zone is one of the best we have visited in the 4 weeks we spent in South America. Deliciously fresh creamy aroma purple just as it should be. We stayed a week in Mendoza and stopped every day to taste new flavors and were never disappointed. Under the shade of trees there are outdoor seating.
Always tried from coffee and chocolate, my favorite travel companion moved us to a full stop. My cappuccino was SA-style small cup and huge glass for the other 'item'. A tad expensive, but suitable the hour.
Really delicious ice cream and milkshakes, also good for those who are lactose intolerant as there are a few water based sorbets
Slightly more expensive than your tipical Grido Helado in Mendoza, but the ice cream was definitely better and the staff very friendly. I got only ice cream with a couple friends and sat at a table and chatted for more than 2 hours and was never prompted to leave by the staff.
