Bidra med feedbackI've eaten grill in the United States, and without a doubt this is something of the best I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, just the right hint of smoke, and the sauce was delicious. I had ribs and pulled pig and was very happy. The baked beans and in-law were also embarrassing. Go if you're in Memphis!
It is definitely a pain to eat. You shouldn't call it BBQ, they should be a bunch of sauce that covers a mysterious meat. I ordered a slice and got a slice of plate. Has come with beans and something I suspect is a vegetable? It had also included a very stable bungalow. I don't know how these places get high reviews. I drove from the highway on the way through the middle of the city to get a highly rated Memphis BBQ and boy, which was a waste of time. Vegetarian options: Accessibility of the chair: Not really wide enough for all, but the thinnest bike chairs through the front. No dedicated disabled parking
A very mom-and-pop type bbq shop in a very lowkey environment. From the outside, it may look sketchy, but they KNOW Memphis BBQ! I grew up in Memphis and hadn't heard of Payne's. But it came up on a google search as one of the top BBQ places in Memphis, so as soon as I landed, my brother and I went here for lunch! We shared the rib plate (comes with 6 ribs, cole slaw, beans, and bread). It came out to be about $18 with bottled water. Not bad at all! We got mild sauce (can also choose medium or spicy). The sauce is sweet but still had a bit of spicy, but next time I'd go for the medium spicy level. The cole slaw was very vinegary, which pairs well with the sweet BBQ sauce. The beans had pieces of brisket in it, which added more flavor and depth. This is a no-frills local BBQ joint; I recommend stopping by for some bites if you're a Memphis BBQ fan!
A BBQ place in the same position for 51 years says something about the food. Put it in the category of Rendezvous, Tops, Leonards and the Commissioner. True Memphis style meaning there are more meat than you know what to do. I could have made two Jumbo sandwiches with the amount of meat on my plate. Look at the photos. My partner chose a Jumbo sandwich and brings half of it home. First bbq place I was, I couldn't finish my meal unless I order a whole rack of ribs. Senfslaw with some vinegar. Three stages of sauce; mild, medium and hot. Not much on the seat, but a steady stream of orders running out of the door. Great service from Ron, Tony and Flo who otherwise know as Mrs. Number b
Payne's BBQ is a childhood favorite of me. The staff is warm and welcoming. The building is always clean on the inside and there are many parking spaces. My favourite item to order is her roasted smoke sausage with homemade hover!
