Snag Stand - Melbourne

Although I typically don't enjoy high-calorie meats served in small portions, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at this restaurant. I tried the sausage with horseradish sauce and beetroot relish, and it was very delicious! I'm glad that I live out of state and won't be tempted to eat here too often, but I will definitely save up my calories to enjoy another meal here when I visit again.

I found this by accident, which is not surprising since it's right next to a major CBD tram stop. I ordered the chorizo. The sausage was full of flavour, the sauce was nice and gave it good lubrication, and the toppings were pretty decent as well, and for under $10 it's affordable. With so many menu options I'll have to come back and try a few more. With the recent closure of my favourite gourmet hotdog place (i.e. Phat Brats of Fitzroy) it's great to see someone is keeping the gourmet hot dog dream alive. I just learnt there's a location in Sydney, so I'll have to check that one out now as well! It's in an inconvenient location though.

Had this place on my hit list for a good dog wasn 't disappointed. Awesome location sitting right on the corner of la trobe st swanston st where you sit on the street watch thousands walk by while your eat a great hot dog. Honestly i was prepared to take this dog back to my hotel but my brother convinced me to eat 'live ' the tables it was awesome! The staff were cool fast, you get this device like a pager that tells you when your food is ready you just walk up recieve. I brought a American classic dog wood smoked frankfurter w/yellow mustard, tomato sauce,onions a green relish sauce on a brioche roll combo which includes a snack size chips the chips are made from tasmanian russet potatoes coke for $9.90 good value! The dog especially the roll 1 of the best rolls/brads ive had were both awesome the chips were I HONESTLY say this meaning it were the BEST ever!!! Plase try these chips for your own sake tell me what you think? Great location,good food,fast fun. Im going for the chilli dog next! Thx SS MC I rate this 9.0/10

When you feel hungry as you are shopping at the CBD or just arrived at the Melbourne Central Station, just step outside the station via exit to corner of La Trobe and Swanston, and order a hotdog of your choice. The service is quick so you can enjoy a quick lunch and shop again. For those who like spicy food, The Chilli dog might be the right choice.

I had an American classic hot dog this afternoon while visiting Melbourne and I was in heaven! Delicious bun, amazing sauce and well cooked sausage! It was probably the best hot dog I've had... I'm so glad I do not live near a snag stand... I would be triple my size if it were!
