Nieuw Amsterdam - Melbourne

I was a bit disappointed with the restaurant. My boyfriend and I had called twice to inform them that most of the people attending would require vegetarian meals. They assured us that they could accommodate by changing the menu to include more vegetarian options. However, when we arrived, they only had a few vegetarian options available and did not offer to make any changes to the menu. Additionally, we were unable to order drinks from the downstairs bar. The waiter also made a mistake by bringing two main dishes for us, even though we had clearly stated that we were sharing. When we pointed this out, he rudely told us to be more specific next time. As someone who works in customer service, I always try to be nice to waitstaff, but in this case, the waiter was not pleasant at all.

We had an amazing dinner and wine experience at this charming restaurant. The white wine options were fantastic, and our choice of appetizers and main dishes was perfect. The service was top-notch, and the decor was elegant and tasteful. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience, and we will definitely be coming back.

The food, wine, and service at this restaurant are exceptional and first-class. I can't wait to go back.

Food was great. A nice take on some classic food. Great beer and cider selection. Goid service. Would definantly go back.

The most amazing cocktails recommend the tobaccquiri (with cigar foam). And delicious menu to accompany it for sharing (or not)... We were there on a quiet mid week and although we were the last to leave we were never made to feel unwelcome. Would def go again.
