Bidra med feedbackIn terms of the yumcha experience in Melbourne, they 're mostly the same, but Gold Leaf Burwood is quite a popular option for those out in this side of the city. They do have consistency, so you know what to expect, even after a year between visits.<br/ <br/ Honeycomb tripe really soft texture, easy to bite and the black bean sauce is delicious.<br/ <br/ Chicken Feet similar sauce as above, the chicken feet have a good gelatinous texture.<br/ <br/ Xiao Long Bao more meaty than soupy, it 's packed with pork.<br/ <br/ Roast Pork Platter crispy pork skin, the meat underneath can be a little dry though<br/ <br/ Shark fin dumpling nice chunks of prawn inside, topped with bit of 'shark fin '<br/ <br/ Most of the fried dumplings are more or less the same crispy outer, whether it 's a wonton skin or bean curd, stuffed with prawn paste and served with a tangy mayo.<br/ <br/ Baked lau sar bao really good version of the regular runny egg yolk custard, it has a crumbly top with a soft white bun. Inside you 'll find a hot, runny, buttery, egg yolk custard with a mildly salty edge. Fantastic.
Great food, service was great and we went on a busy father's day. Highly recommend! Thank you waitress Joey for constantly refilling our teapot without having to ask for it. All staff were lovely. It's hard to find good service for fast pace and busy yum cha places so thank you!
Not bad for Yum Cha. The food is delicious and dumplings are big with lots of other varieties and choices.Service although is a little slow for 12.30pm session, you only get 1 hour which is a shame as this is probably the most popular time to have lunch. It felt very rushed.
Best option for yum cha if you are in the Eastern Suburbs. Weekends can get quite busy so make your you book ahead. Trays come out quite frequently so wait for dishes isn't too long. Service is actually quite high standard for a chinese restauarant.
Great value and nice atmosphere. We were impressed with the efficient and friendly service, drinks and tea are topped up, plates are cleared and exchanged before you even think to ask. Our waiter, Weijian, was excellent.<br/ <br/ Food-wise the servings are very generous. I found the dumplings too large and difficult to handle without falling apart. They are about double the standard size! I was happy to see both baked and steamed sausage buns on the menu, which are not so common. Custard buns and egg tarts were both excellent, but tarts arrived luke warm. The chicken feet and pork spare ribs were very meaty compared to other venues. Bbq pork pastries were stone cold but had great flavour.<br/ <br/ We have been meaning to try Gold Leaf after many recommendations, however, it is often booked out! We managed to get an 11am Saturday session and there was a line out the door on opening. It moved quickly and staff were directly everyone to tables with food already circling when you sat down.
