Bidra med feedbackThe meat pies at this restaurant are absolutely delicious. It's a fantastic spot for lunch located at the Spring Street end of the CBD. The atmosphere is cosy and friendly, making it one of the best places to visit on a cold winter day in Melbourne. Although it may be a bit hidden, it's perfect for those looking to experience the local side of Melbourne.
I visited this cozy little café for lunch on a Friday and was delighted by the delicious hot pies they served. I was glad we made a reservation as the place was busy. The pies arrived promptly once we were seated. I ordered the sample pie which included half a chicken and leek pie and half a beef pie. The pie was tasty and steaming hot inside. Served with a side of salad and relish, it was the perfect meal for a chilly day.
One must-try option is the Sample Pie, featuring a combination of beef and red wine, as well as chicken and leek. The Shepherd's Pie boasts a crispy potato topping that resembles potato royals. The generous portions and wholesome ingredients make for a satisfying and hearty meal. Despite its small size, the café's simple and functional setting efficiently utilizes the space. The friendly and efficient service, along with quick turnaround times, make this café a great choice for a speedy and enjoyable lunch.
Their sign says their pies are the best so we had to take a try.<br/ <br/ We got there for lunch and they had already sold out of most of their pies so we ended up getting the pumpkin, spinach fetta pesto pie and also a chicken avocado mango chutney sandwich.<br/ <br/ The pie was yummy and looks homemade, it’s a good size and with salad is filling. The chicken sandwich was just ok with the chicken a bit dry.<br/ <br/ We will be back to try more pies from there again.
My favourite cafe down this end of the CBD. Love their pies and their mac n' cheese, coffee is also great. Overall, cute (tucked away) lunch spot.
