Bidra med feedbackThe second time I have had the pleasure of dining at Rare Uptown and it certainly won’t be the last! On our table, we ordered mains, desserts and drinks. A friend of mine had the barramundi which she said was excellent plate cleaned! My partner had the pasture fed Eye Fillet, again plate cleaned! I had the on the bone Rib Eye, cooked to perfection, with mash and a side of broccolini and beans plates cleaned again! All mains of exceptional quality and the service here is second to none! Desserts best sticky date pudding this writer has had ever! Lots of butterscotch sauce and honeycomb shards accompanied a beautiful pudding and ice cream. Awesome! All washed down with a Philip Shaw Pinot Noir from Orange NSW and a cheeky little Arran single malt scotch whisky to finish. When I’m back in Melbourne again soon, Rare Uptown most definitely gets another visit from me!
As soon as we arrived to Rare we received pleasant and attentive service. The food was very nice from the oysters entree, to the mains (we both had steak with chips and shared the beans and broccolini), and the desserts cheesecake and affogato it all added up to a very pleasant evening. (One slight drawback we wanted the chateaubriand and we missed out by one order, as they ran out Luckily they had a huge menu of other steak options to choose from). We had a number of servers and they were all friendly, efficient and professional. We also ended up getting some complimentary macarons and a few chocolates to celebrate our anniversary as well. We were so full though we had to take them home! Would recommend this to locals and visitors alike. It's not too casual, and not too fancy; but still intimate. Thanks for a lovely experience!

Quality of food is always high, the staff are friendly and professional and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. One of my favourite spots for a relaxed meal.
The Chateaubriand was cooked precisely to our liking of medium rare. Pan-seared scallops were fresh and cooked to perfection. The restaurant atmosphere felt posh but relaxed.
