Hemingway's Tavern - Melbourne

Fun and eclectic place, a bit loud. Our food was excellent, interesting choices. Our server was attentive (and was in training, it was great!). We felt the parts were generous. Clean. Great location at the cinema and behind the Melbourne Mall.

Hemingway?s Tavern is my favorite place in Melbourne. Since I moved here, I've tried to find a place with great consistent food and I think I've found it! We were here for birthday dinner. For the birthday party you get the opportunity to get a free piece of key lime cake or a free key lime cake shot. We ordered a few different sandwiches that were all amazingly paired with their truffles Parmesan Pommes (soo good). I?d definitely recommend big bang for buck!

I have always enjoyed Hemingways in the past. I still think they have one of the best Cuban sandwiches in the area. Went and had brunch today and thought it was just okay. Our Avocado BLT seemed to have some light on avocado (it seemed to be missing on half the sandwich). The shrimps and grits were all right, but I found the engraving to be a little emptied. So it was either not warm enough or improperly mixed. My wife had lobster eggs Benedict and again, individual components were good, but the flavors were not well married. Only real problem is what we paid for it. The service was great. Flavors were there somehow, but the overall version was missing.

Day trip to Melbourne and we starved, we decided to come to Hemingways Tavern. The establishment of this place is spectacular, my husband is from the Cuban city where Hemingway lived and he was very amazed at the attention to the details. The food was spectacular, I ordered a carafe of the mimosa that is $18. I had the chicken and waffle slippers and my husband had the pulled pig eggs Benedict. Where did everything cost? Perfection. The waffles had a nutcrack, and the chicken was perfectly cooked. My husband's pig was amazing that it would literally melt into his mouth. Give this place a try when you're in the area. I will definitely come back.

This was very good! Well deserved it?s rating I?d say. I got a mojito which was good (not the best I?ve ever had, but good). We started off with an order of the empanadas and were very happy with them. I got the snapper Hemingway, two of my friends got the skirt steak, and one got the snapper carbonara. We were all very happy with our meals. We finished with some sort of banana pudding thing that was also very tasty!
