Sonnegg Betriebs Gmbh - Meggen

A great little discovery not far from the bustling city center of Lucerne. Sonnegg is located in the nearby municipality of Meggen. When we visited in October 2023 we found a mostly empty restaurant which led us to be wary of what to expect, but after we were served a complementary “Lauchsuppe” (Leek Soup) we were pleasantly surprised. I ordered the 300g Rindsfilet Steak (which is served on a hot grill stone), my wife ordered the Cordon Bleu with Gorgonzola and my son the Chicken Wings. All of the food was really top quality and among the best of any of the restaurants that we tried using our vacation in Switzerland. My wife did mention that her dish was a bit more intense that she expected, but still was very good. Our waiter was fantastic, attentive and friendly making sure everything was just perfect. We were so impressed that we returned the following evening for our last dinner before leaving Switzerland. If you want something a little outside the city center I think you won’t go wrong with Sonnegg.

We walked from Luzern to Meggen along the lake and did a stop for a lovely Sunday lunch. The food was 5 star! Delicious.

Das Restaurant verfügt über eine schöne Terrasse mit einem wunderbaren Blick auf den See und die Berge. Es bietet köstliche lokale Gerichte und Fleischspezialitäten. Die Portionen sind groß und das Essen schmeckt sehr gut, begleitet von freundlichem Service.

Wir waren heute Nachmittag beim Essen und alles war frisch zubereitet und unglaublich lecker. Die Preise waren völlig angemessen und die Bedienungen sehr freundlich. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Das Sonnegg war fantastisch. Wir saßen auf ihrer Terrasse und genossen den Blick auf den Vierwaldstättersee und die Alpen. Das Kalbsbratwurst mit Rösti und ein Gericht mit einem Rösti in Käsesauce und einem Ei waren ein Traum. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert!
