Prices are high, 30 € per dish but justified...by the quality of the food. The service was good, the waiter was very nice and helpful. A very good evening in one Megeve’s best restaurants.

Loved dining here yesterday! Good food for both us as well as the kids (menu). The fondue is really a recommendation. Beautiful view!

We found Le Refuge through our hotel the Chalet Zannier and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is super cosy, the food is amazing quality and the service is fantastic too. Would definitely recommend and go back for low key, rustic, incredibly yummy local...cuisine.

My children and I had a fantastic experience 2 years ago at Le Refuge, where we celebrated my birthday, and we were treated with great service and delicious food. Because of that experience, I decided to reserve this restaurant again for my birthday this year....I made the booking several weeks before and I informed them that I was coming with my 3 children again. This time, the experience was not so great. First, we arrived at 7 pm on the dot to an empty restaurant. The restaurant opens at 7 pm so that makes sense, but when they sat us at the worst table in the front of the restaurant, in the enclosed space , where there was no light and certainly no atmosphere, I asked Paul who seemed to be the manager in charge if we could move to the main restaurant area. He refused my request, saying that it was full inside tonight and people had booked many weeks ago. I reminded him that I also had and that I was there with my 3 children and most probably, we would be finished in about an hour. He refused again, saying that there 's no way that we will finish in an hour and he couldn 't move us inside. In fact, I was right we were paying the check by 8 pm. This wasn 't rocket science since the menu d 'enfant consisted of a small steak and a small bowl of rice. This took my children about 10 minutes to eat. And this is an assessment that should also be made by the person in charge at a restaurant. Also, the majority of the tables came in at 7:30 8 pm, which would have really given us enough time to finish. I pointed this out to Paul, but he was far from apologetic. Finally, the food was bland and tasteless and really did not warrant the 18 euros for a children 's plate or the 32 euros they charged me for my plate, which consisted of 3 prawns and 2 scallops. That was a main dish, by the way not an appetiser! The last time, we had a fondue and that was much better but there 's too many places that serve great fondue these days ! I would not return here again and given all the great restaurants in Megeve and in the region, I would recommend that anyone bring their business elsewhere!
