Hotel Strand-Cafe - Meersburg

There are places where you know despite all the specialties: here I am right. as it happened to meersburg, which we discovered 25 years ago on a trip for us, and with the hotel beach café, where we left for the fourth time. the position on the promenade is impressive. there are few steps investor to the Lake Constance. most rooms have a fantastic view over the lake. since we only book in the short term and then take that available with a sea view, we have already arrived well in the house. the comfort rooms in the first floor with balcony to the sea are spacious, the aircraft before the house bring visual impairment in late summer until they are cut back in september. the rooms in the second and third floor are very nice, the further up, the closer it comes in the bathroom. the hotel in historical ruins is life and passion – and there is also “Leiden creates” – its owner, who has been working for more than 30 years and whose love is felt everywhere for detail. even if they grow their cases through the corner staircase, they can see beautiful accessories everywhere. the rooms themselves, as far as they are located on the sun side of the lake, are equipped with dense dark furniture. like a red thread pull cover and wall lights of a certain design throughout the whole house. the house is deprived of any classification in common star certifications. it is true what corresponds to the value order of the holder. so it is clear that the soap dispenser is not a plastic bottle hanging on the wall, but an elegant flacon, while the small doses such as shampoo, washcloth or shoe dresses are missing. but also contemporary details can be discovered as radio in the wall of the bathroom. where also the view is very well maintained and brightly clean. the strict ordering hand of the chef is also noticeable in the cozy restaurant area. opening times and menus had to be reduced. it had begun to enjoy it was simply too much, and a little more time for itself is the chief of the heart. the breakfast is lovingly arranged. every guest finds his table with a porcellain sign on which his name and a morning greeting stand. at the buffet there is everything they can enjoy at home. the walk with the guests among themselves is so that I sometimes felt like the movie "the holidays of mr. hulot," which is characterized by tatis. a small hotel in this location, which must generate its operating costs and, above all, the annual renovations in seasonal operated, cannot be quite cheap, and that applies to accommodation as well as for the restaurant. we have no cent regret that we have spent there and we are coming back. we have to overcome the necessary feeling, compassion and security. who feels obligated to see what he sees as “modern” and appreciates anonymity cannot be so happy in this house.
