Restaurante Porton - Medellín

Came upon El Village on our second night in Medellin. It is right next to Park Lleras, and we enjoyed drinks the first night and dinner the next night. We enjoyed a super-tasty lychee sangria and then a selection of appetizers the next night. The...mini-burgers were excellent as were the ribs (which come with plastic gloves to keep your fingers clean). My wife and daughter really enjoyed the smoked salmon. Cool, fun atmosphere.

I went here on a Friday night for the second time. Last time it was awesome and I wanted to have the same experience. El village didnt dissapoint. I went for a safe bet: mini burgers, salmon tartines and a mojito. Great choice to start...the night! On top of everything there was live music!

It is the top ranked on Tripadvisor for Medellin, so I had to check it out. I was expecting a great dinner night. Unfortunately, it was a bad experience. Ordered the chorizo artesanal sandwich, waited 1.25 hours to get the wrong sadwich, it tasted like...nothing. We also ordered a margarita pizza, waited 45 minutes, got a cold pizza, taste was okay. I could tell they were very understaffed 2 waitresses for 10+ tables. I could tell there was problem in the kitchen since all the orders were behind. I give them credit for ambiance, but I definitely don´t recommend this restaurant. The service is bad, the food does not justify the prices in COP.

I stumbled upon this restaurant last weekend in Medellin. I went there at 5 pm, drank a cucumber gin and tonic an ate a chorizo cacerola. Both the cocktail and the food were great and the music was very trendy. I like chill restaurants like...this one where you an have great food at decent prices and the staff is nice!
