Bidra med feedbackReally not una experiencia española. The one in Laureles On Av. Jardín is terribly laid out. Small portions, staff that acts like they know what they are talking about yet haven't the slightest. Enough said. Sorry to be so harsh, but I call it as...I see it.
Went because a friend told me they had a nice sangria . Sangria was ok . The montaditos are not great. The could be better if they use better ingredients . Fried shrimp were too greasy . Good concerto though .
Tuesday night and all of the restaurants in the food mall were empty. We decided to give Montaditos a try. The menu is tapas/spanish and to start we were handed a form to complete for the food that we wanted. That, two sided, plus the...menu makes it a complicated exercise (if you want something you then have to check the menu for the price). It doesn't make a relaxed start to the meal. In this food mall clearly a lot of money has been spent on designers trying to differentiate the different restaurants. Montaditos looked fine except that the tables have a mix of chairs at them (some wooden, some plastic, some tall, some short, some red, some black). It may have sounded a good idea on the proposal but it frankly looked a mess. We ordered and the drinks (sangria and two bottle of water) did take some time to reach the table. Annoying as the staff appeared to be chatting remember we were the only guests at that time. The Sangria was pretty good the food when it arrived inconsistent. The Papas Bravas were VERY spicy there's a point at which the spicy interesting becomes spicy inedible, and this was close to that point. The chicken crocantes had little taste, the calamares a disaster (the breading falling away instantly) and the mushrooms really very good; all in all inconsistent. The meal took an age with long waits between the dishes. Note to the waitress who came across if you need to ask the guests what dishes they are still waiting for something somewhere has broken down in your system. They seem to have plenty of front staff, including someone (the owner who spent the evening on her Macbook but didn't seem to add anything to the exercise. In the kitchen their seemed to be one cook and from time to time the staff would look in to see how he was progressing. Given the time it took to get a half a dozen tapas dishes to the table perhaps they need less on the computer support side and more effort in the kitchen? There were three tables occupied by the time we left it's interesting to wonder how long the meal would have taken if the place had been full. At the end of the evening we had to wait for our bill to be (beautifully) handwritten up as their system was down. I might have made an argument for a return visit, but my companion suggested they have had their chance. One of the dishes the mushrooms really had promise and the Sangria wasn't bad either but the rest of the dishes just didn't make it. For the evening the bill was exactly
