Boogaloo is a small fast food restaurant with Arepa Rellena, it means a flat corn bread (not sweet at all), with toppings, while arepa is the staple of diet around Medellin, this is a good take, just replace the white bread and you get a more tasteful bite. They serve arepa with pork, beef, chicken and many options, then add mushrooms, corn, egg tortilla, sauces. I tried the posta negra, a slowly brewed beef with a sweet sauce, typical of Cartagena and they nailed!!, really delicious and well made with a small cheese to supplement it; Lorenzo and Pepita are their two most popular arepas with beef and mushroms later. The key to a good arepa, they do not taste like industrial kitchen (Sorry J

They serve arepa with pork, beef, chicken and lots of options, then add mushrooms, corn, egg tortilla, sauces. I tried the posta negra, a slow braised beef roast with a sweet sauce, typical of Cartagena and they nailed !!, realy tasty and well done with a little cheese to top it; Lorenzo and Pepita are their two most popular arepas with beef and mushroms the later. The key to a good arepa, they taste not like industrial kitchen (Sorry J&C Arepas, a very popular fast food chain doing the same) but like a Paisa Grandma making the arepas, and then the toppings. Plenty of options, for salad, wraps and grilled dishes. The juice I ordered orange+pineapple+ginger, was one of the best; I've tried this combination so many times, this is the one reaching 100%, so good !. Ambiance is not the super cool location but is clean, easy street parking, waiters were friendly and fast, and the price is moderate, a lunch for two with fruit juices and medium size arepas was $15, it's worth to try it, in Laureles neighborhood.

Hace mucho no comía en Boogaloo, las únicas arepas que son bien asadas y que ofrecen un plato agradable. Volver me perimitió reencontrar el sabor y de paso, traer a la memoria los acompañamientos: el pepino y la cebolla que preparan...es una buena elección.

Encuentras arepas con variedad de ingredientes, muy ricas y a un buen precio. La atención y el ambiente no son extraordinarios, pero si mejores que en otros restaurantes similares de arepas como comida rápida.

A este negocio me llevaban mis papas cuando hace muchos años, Emma y las mejores arepas de Medellin. mazola la mejor.
