5* food and 5* service! We had a wonderful evening with the tasting menu and wine pairings. Was particularly impressed by Yingsern the sommelier who explained the wines so eloquently. We absolutely loved the Despatch Sangiovese 2012! All the staff were so welcoming and made our experience at de Mondion unforgettable.

Are. You. Serious!? This restaurant serves food that deserves to be placed in a museum. Tears were shed at the flavours that exploded in my mouth (literally, I cried). The creativity that the team were able to imprint onto a plate is simply beyond the innovation of mere mortals. My taste buds were humbled that evening and I will forever dread my future meals at not coming close to the experience that was felt at de Mondion. I am petrified I may never be this satisfied ever again.

Amazing experience! Silver service with great hospitality and a smile. They also go the extra mile by celebrating with you if you're there for a special occasion. The food is incredible and so creative. Best Michelin star, dining experience we've had so far in Malta.

We visited de Mondion in November for dinner, after a recommendation from a good friend. It was a very nice experience and the food was delicious. Every course was described to us in great detail and were paired with a remarkable selection of quality Maltese wines. The chef visited every table to ensure that all the guests were satisfied and to answer any questions. In addition the owner also made time to visit each of the guests, exceptional. If you're in Mdina and have the chance to visit this michelin star restaurant, you won't regret it! A true fine dining experience We spent 2 lovely nights at The Xara Palace booked dinner at de Mondion. We were disappointed to hear that the restaurant de Mondion was closed during our stay but to our surprise, we were informed they would open the restaurant just for us (as we had made our booking months ago they did not want us to leave disappointed). This is indeed stellar service needless to say we were treated as very special guests we now know what celebrities feel like when they book out an entire restaurant. Service was impeccable, the food stunning absolutely delicious with a varied wine list that was well explained (the intricacies of Maltese wines) by our sommelier/waiter (Yingsern). Not often does one get waited on full time by 2 staff members it was definitely a night to remember. The food was beautifully presented with much thought going into the plating all our senses were used during the meal. Every dish was a masterpiece this restaurant is well deserving of its michelin rating. You wont be disappointed but ensure reservations are made well in advance as the restaurant is not large. Dining in the open patio area with great views would be ideal in the summer months. Highly recommended!
