143 Market - Mattapoisett Center

Went to my favorite market today to get food for dinner. I was talking to the girls about what happened the other day while I was there. I have always had a great experience with the employees at this market and I don't know how they tolerate some of the customers, the other day I witnessed the rudest, darn right mean customer, the credit card systems were down (technology is great when it works) and they weren't able to process our cards and the way that woman spoke to the employees if it was my business I would have asked her to leave, it was so obnoxious to the point the manager had to speak to her.

Catering good, service poor. Ordered catering for Father's day and it was good, not amazing, but good that we'd try them again. But the service was not good, very rude woman literally was so rude to me. I had specifically asked if they take AMX credit cards when I ordered the week prior, when I went to pick up my order the kid told me cash or check only. I typically only carry $100 in cash on me so I was in a mild panic that I wouldn't have enough money and I don't carry my check book. This woman comes out and I told her I had asked when I ordered, and she rudely said the whole system is down, there is nothing I can do. Not I'm sorry for the inconvenience, nothing. I was so appalled that she was so rude. That alone will make me not want to give them my business again.

Love the steaks from 143 Market. If you are looking to grill something special 143 is the place to go.

Not sure what to make for dinner? Stop in and ask the knowledgeable, helpful and friendly butchers. Grab a sandwich and/or pre-made goodies at the deli counter. There's even yummy desserts from a local restaurant and fresh produce along with other grocery items. Note: Kitchen close at 3PM.

Absolutely outstanding people here. They have a wide variety of cuts and even help us out with custom cuts of meat. I can't thank you enough!
