Bidra med feedbackFriendly sfaff, nice atmosphere sitting outside, very relaxing. Strong local food offerings, lovely meals and wine (recommended). Large portions for salads, we could have shared one and generous mains. We left fully sated and satified with our choices. Scenic views in this old part of the city (Assisi) add to the dining experience.
Service was quick and the servers were attentive. Starting off with local meats and pasta as the main dish. Portions were great and tasty. The chocolate soufflé at the end was just perfect and followed by a great cup of cappuccino!
In a quiet part of Sassi, we found this wine bar. We just had a glass of red wine while sitting outside, sucking in the atmosphere.
We arrived in Matera around 3pm in a sunny Tuesday and we were starving as we skipped lunch but we did not want to go to a restaurant for a complete Italian meal. We spotted this little jewel in the middle of the Sassi and we ordered a bruschetta, a plate of mixed cheese (goat, sheep, cheese in grape skin) and one with salame, pancetta and pancetta sott'olio and other pork specialties. We also had olives, taralli, dried tomatoes and crunchy fried pepperoni and one glass of Primitivo. Everything was very fresh and super tasty, the girl of the staff has been very friendly and has explained the origin and history of everything she served to us. With a great view on the Sassi, this is a very good way to enjoy local delicacies.
Excellent chicken meal, wine was exceptional, service was superb and ambiance was great. We found it by chance, but would thoroughly recommend it.
