Smokey J's - Marshfield

My work just moved to the area. I was looking for something different than fast food, and that's when I stumbled upon Smokey J's. It is positioned in a downtown store front, the dining area is quaint but open. The order counter was a little dark, butwith the lighting coming in from the store front that is OK. The gal behind the counter was so nice and showed me how to order.I filled out my order sheet and had my food in about 5 minutes. I got the Brisket Sandwich, seriously it was one of the bestBrisket Sandwiches that I have ever had. I am a stickler about my brisket too. I will definitely be going back to Smokey J's!

The prices are somewhat high for the value, but the food is tasty, and I would certainly go back again.

The food was good, and our waitress was fantastic. However, the person who was closing on 4/12/19 was quite rude. We arrived late and asked if we could stay because we had out-of-town guests, and our waitress was completely fine with it; she even offered to clean around us, which we appreciated. Around 8:15 pm, as we were preparing to leave, our 2-year-old accidentally spilled a drink. It was no big deal, and our waitress helped us clean it up. Suddenly, a woman with blonde hair came out and rudely said, “We closed 15 minutes ago; we’re going to have to ask you to leave.” It was clear she wasn’t making a polite request, and it’s not the right way to ask patrons to leave, especially after we received permission from our waitress. Based on her rudeness, I likely won't be returning.

Fantastic pizza and pulled pork sandwiches! The atmosphere is vibrant and the service is great. The owner personally checks in to ensure everything is to your liking. It's a perfect spot for a family outing!
