Island Foods Express - Markham

No seating at this restaurant, strictly take out. Food does taste good. My attraction to this place even though the food is good has waned a lot. Small servings for big prices, specifically the roti and doubles a few bites and it is gone. After time the small portion sizes does weigh on you. I think other customers might be experiencing this as well. As the place used to be so packed a few months ago. I have settled to visiting here about 2 to 3 times a month, back to my previous haunts.

If you’re looking for authentic West Indian food (you’re from the islands your self) I would not go here. How ever the roti was fresh but the curry is the yellow curry not traditional Jamaican curry.

The service from staff and food is so fresh and good I always order my spicy potato rotis with extra gravy and never been disappointed always greeted with a smile and fabulous service potato roti lover (rozy)Parking: Huge free parking lot

First time having doubles. It was great , the rice and peas was surprisingly good texture and flavour as well, loved the veggies that came with the rice. Will try the jerk next time.

I tried their curry shrimp for the first time and it was a solid 10/10! I wish I had gotten rice with it but the gravy was sooooo tasty that I literally had it like soup! The girl at cash is always smiling and pleasant which adds to the experience. So far anything I’ve tried from here has not disappointed.
