Bidra med feedbackIn the restaurant business, I 've heard a sentiment that goes something like, A customer comes for the food, but returns for the service. This is why Cafe Del Rey has been in business for 20 years, and through an economic downturn and quite a few different chefs. The food: Always good Usually great Sometimes exceptional The service: Pretty close to flawless in my book (in the true consistency over time sense rather than the one-off perfect server/perfect night sense. I am personally a huge fan of dining in the lounge, although a water view from the dining room makes a nice date night or special occasion dinner. I preferred the lounge before the (late 2019? remodel; it was a regular-in-rotation. I loved the big booths and warmer tones, although I 'm a sucker for a big booth and bemoan their widespread demise. I can rack up a helluva bar tab with a few friends if you give me a comfy leather booth ; I go a good bit less than I used to but I am always pleased with the food and service when I do. Parking: Valet only/always a reasonable charge for the area, and always highly professional.
Very impressed with service and food. Came here the day after christmas for my mom's birthday. I made note of the birthday in the reservation and requested a table with a nice view which we definitely got. Our table was right by the window where we could look out on the docks of beautiful Marina Del Rey. We were given menus right away and shortly after ordered drinks. I got the strawberry lemonade which tasted homemade and was the perfect mix of sweet and sour. A few other drinks were ordered (I can't remember which) and everyone love theirs. As for the food they have quite a selection for their lunch menu so we all had a hard time deciding. I ended up getting the duck while my boyfriend got the steak frites. My brother got the lunch plate and chose the lamb ragout for the main while his girlfriend got a salad. My grandpa got the salmon and my mom got the lobster pasta. The food took quite a long time to come out and I which there was a way to rate it 4.5 stars however the remarkable service makes this place deserve the 5 star review: all of our dishes were delicious and we all pretty much tried each others food because of how impressed we were. Lastly when we all finished and asked for the check the waiter surprised my mom with a birthday dessert! She was so excited and we were all able to sing to her. We were the last ones in the restaurant and everyone was so warm and friendly thanking us all for dining there. I will definitely be back!
Ambience: 5 Food: OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD Service: 5 Parking: Valet only $6) Reservations: Encouraged My colleague and her daughter wanted to take me out for a fancy dinner and Cafe Del Rey did not disappoint! It 's what the kids would call fancy af. If you 're thinking about an anniversary, engagement or any form of celebratory dinner, then Cafe Del Rey is it. Felicity, our waitress, was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and provided some STELLAR recommendations. We ordered the truffle pizza $22), which was my favorite thing cheese, truffles and bread! What else could a girl ask for. We also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese $18), which was just ok, and the Brussel sprouts $9), which were a bit better. For my main, I ordered the scallops $34). It was some of the best scallops that I 've ever had, juicy, perfectly seared and a decent size, as far as scallops are concerned. If you 're thinking about ordering the scallops, just know that it 's a lighter dish and you may want to opt for a side or appetizer for a heartier meal.

Was my first time at the venue in Marina del Rey. Really pretty with waterfront views of the marina. The seafood was fresh and delicious! Cocktails were great too. Found out they have a happy hour and brunch on Sunday too! You can just come by or call and make a reservation. They also have a newly renovated event space if you want to have a private function. Easily accessible with a parking lot out front and valet. Their crab legs and fresh oyesters we're amazing! Little lemon, sauce and delicious! The staff is super friendly and helpful too on recommendations. Definitely will be back! The view of the sunset from our table was spectacular! All the nice boats and marina views are a gem! Great for a romantic dinner date.
