Bidra med feedbackThis is a lifetime experience, in the small village of Pieve di Marebbe, just opposite the church, the house (it was once the court of the area.. where the time seems to have stopped and where the lady and her husband are peacefully manging to take guests into their dimensions. The two dining rooms are decorated with hunting memorabilias and do introduce you to the warmth of mountains lodges, so calm, so unbelievably out of time, so immaculately perfect. Let them do, listen to what they can offer (there is no menu , but make sure do not skip their mezzalunas filled with ricotta and potatoes, of their gnocchetti (spaetzle with spinach, speck and love. Yes they put love in what they cook and in what they do. After the first bite you will fly to heaven, the tastes are so delicate, so unimaginable if you live in a town, the gnocchis were just a masterpiece, something I still dream. And the atmosphere, the silence, the respect for guest, it has been the BEST dining experience while in that region. The only negative thing is that we did not go back ....next time Gran Ciasa means great home, nomen is omen.
Extremely authentic family run restaurant. A reservation is mandatory and you must agree on the menu when you book. This guarantees the quality and freshness of your meal (and obviously no wastes for the owners). Pork shank is to die for. Highly recommended if you are anywhere in the area.
One year later, the happiness to return to our beloved Dolomites, was even bigger as we thought about Gran Ciasa, and this year in ten days we had three occasions to enjoy Angelo and his wife 's phenomal grandma styled cooking. Since you stepped in this house over 300 years old it was a court in the past, used for local disputes) you enter a fairy tale ambience, where indepndentely from the time or the weather outside, inside you do experience a sort of whimsical journey into pleasure. Pleasure pure and genuin, as the tastes of their dishes, where even a simple omelette with cheese is a masterwork, soething you will not forget. Their famous mezzelune di patate a sort of ravioli filled with potatoes and leeks)served with melted butter and cheese, is out of this world. If you are brave enough ask them also to cook some meat, you need to do in advance as normally, as for lunch the selection is extremely limited juts the opposite of the quality. The last dinner they served us some prok meat, ribs and pork knuckles wit the veggies form their garden, that were a blown, simply living in town we do not know how a real carrot, or a potato might really taste. And all around you a sort of local memorabilia, hunting treasures, and the warmth of the wood, and nothing can go wrong. I thank Gran Ciasa to exist, these are really memory places, unforgettable and unique. Awesome, it will deserve six stars
