Gaspers - Marbella

We visited Gaspers on the back of a recommendation from our apartment owners. If you are from Spain and your palate is not used to good quality restaurants this may just be the place for you. Its serves traditional Spanish food like you would get in a traditional Spanish home and is run by a Spanish family with little English spoken. We tried the tortilla which is a large potato cake, followed by meat balls in gravy with potatoes, this was quite a dry dish and not very well seasoned. To top it off we ordered the entrecote steak at 32 euro. This steak had no accompanying sauces such as bearnaise or peppercorn available, when we asked about sauces we were give a jar of mustard, the steak was presented with sliced potato (again) and a grilled tomato and the steak itself was fatty and full of gristle with myself and my partner unable to eat it. All in all a poor culinary experience not to be repeated.

Lovely meal last night! Not that gone on fish but shared a whole sea bream with my husband and loved every bit of it!!

9 people for dinner last night it’s rustic great value, food excellent and you won’t be hungry enjoy, note it’s cash only and the menu is hand written in Spanish daily

Estuve el sábado con un grupo grande, pedimos unas ensaladas, arroz exquisito. Bacalao, rabo y berenguenas. No sabría con qué quedarme!!! Excelente y nada caro.

Un sitio que tiene las 3 B, bueno, bonito y barato. También tiene comida para llevar.
