Socrates Greek Taverna - Maple Ridge

It was delivery, but food was terrible, Greek ribs were dry, freezer burnt almost rancid tasting and manager was so rude incredible.

Socrates is the best Greek food restaurant in MR. We have dined at every Greek restaurant in MR and Pitt M for 30 years and Socrates is excellent. Everything we have ordered has been awesome, especially the platters for 2. Food, service, prices cleanliness 10/10 and always a table available.

Old food, microwaved. The worst Roast Lamb I've ever had. My wife's Spanikopita dinner and the pita bread we ordered, also very poor. Looks like they give you yestedays leftovers I should have cancelled my order when they said it would be ready in 15 minutes. Won't be back!

We decided to support local for dinner and check out this restaurant. First it was dead only 1 other table but the phone was ringing a lot for pick up. We ordered an appetizer platter and asked the size. The menu said it came with pita but apparently they no longer include this. We ordered a side of calamari, the waitress should have told is how much comes with the platter, it was not needed and would have been a waste of money. Everything was luke warm. The dolmades were ice cold in the centre. Calamari was chewy and not crispy. Spanakopita was warm on the edges but cool in the centre. Clearly everything was microwaved. After sitting for 20 min with no help from the waitress with the terrible wig even after my husband tried to get her attention. I went up to the bar to complain about the meal. The waitress was rude and flippant. A second waitress offered to get the manager. He came right over and said no cooks want to work during covid and offered to remove the second order of calamari and adjust the bill. We waited another 10+ minutes with no bill and left money on the table and walked out. Both the manager and the wigged waitress chased us out the door and accused us of not paying. At this point there was a line up of people picking up. We went back in and showed them the money and argued about the bill some more and left. This food is disgusting and a microwave has no business being in a kitchen. If they cant get a cook they should not be open for service.

We tried this local Greek restaurant for a take out dinner during these times with COVID-19 restrictions on dining out. We each had a tasty Prawn Souvlaki dinners, which included the rice, potato, prawns with a fresh Greek salad! Phoned ahead with easy pickup and enjoyed at home.
