Bidra med feedbackIt doesn't look like much from the outside, but it was spotless inside and very busy. the tacos were very good, many flavored. also a burrito was very good. 4 beer and gloomy for 285 pesos. will definitely be back.
Really delicious tacos to great value. garnel and cheese on the cactus was incredible. the charges of free extras to salsas, frijoles and fried paprika and swirling. friendly service and a great price. comes back!
So we had been to La Sonrisa and had been a little underwhelmed with the food there, based on all of the glowing reviews. We chalked up its popularity to La Sonrisa being the late night, drunk food stop in Manzanillo. Don Julio, by comparison,...was THE street taco place. From the outside, being on a busy corner on the main boulevard, the place might look a little shady. But you walk in the little front entrance next to the cooking area and voila, there's are several large, well-spaced eating areas with lots of room and good air movement from fans. Service was super helpful. Servers were helpful and attentive. Boyfriend ordered a range of tacos (asada, adobada, and chorizo and I ordered an arrachera and a shrimp taco. First, the arrachera was delicious. I usually don't eat meat, except for special occasions or when I'm traveling and you want to sample local flavor. This was good quality meat and flavorful! But it was the shrimp taco that blew me away. It came with saffron and the flavor combination made this pretty much the best shrimp taco flavor I've had. But then... the sexy nopales that came with the meal were awesome as well! We also ordered some guac (good, but they only give you 5 or so chips? . So between the food, the nopales, the guac, all the salsas, and the tons and tons of veggies to dress your food with, we were in heaven. Oh, and there are about 20 different bottles of hot sauce on your table to choose from as well. We ate here once and came back again on our way to the airport so we could leave Manzanillo with the taste of Don Julio still with us. When we go back, we will be sure to eat at Don Julio several times.
Wanting lunch and with so many options, we stopped at this smaller place. We ordered drinks first. We each had a 1 liter cup of, me-Lemonade, my wife-Horchata. We then ordered Grniga Nopal Asada my wife) and I ordered two items as they were only...P$35 each $1.50)Nopal Volcan Asada and Nopal Volcan Chorizo. One of these would have been enough. All three of these were basically grilled green peppers with melty cheese and then meat. The beef Asada my wife 's) was very thinly sliced beef. Chorizo is sausage, in this case ground up sort of like on a pizza. My beef Asada was cut in small ¼ cubes. There was also a grilled onion which was sweet and tasty. A lot of food and fast service.
Very authentic, good service and awesome tacos. Great central location, and priced at local prices, which is cheap.
