Eating was tasty without being exceptional. good moule and a beautiful filet dourade, although something on the small side. with a bottle of local wine, the bill was reasonable... at 55euros. a bit loud, as it is very close to a busy road and the mosquitoes were annoying.
Unbalance restaurant on the beach accessible by mandelieu. the food was good, the three prawn platter with garlic aioli was delicious, and the mush a la cream were also great. dessert was in order, but nothing special, and the strawberry sauce was made on the lemon meringue...for a strange taste. service was ok, but a bit confused to time, we ordered a starter and two netzen and one of the netzen arrived before the starter (but that was easily fixed.) the restaurant was very busy when we visited, but we could enter without reservation. it is located right next to a road, so they do not expect a picturesque view.
We thought it would be a tipically local French restaurant with good food. But: Our food was brought 10 minutes after we ordered it yet. The steak was raw. We asked medium. The quality of the steak was very thin and bad. My friend is...a real meatlover and he knows what is good meat. The fries were baked twice because they tasted like chips. Top of the bill: there was a dead fly in our mayonaise which didn't taste like mayonaise anyway. Then we stopped eating in this horrible restaurant, payed and left.
Some of us choose fried mussels with French fries and some choose the buffet. I definitively have tried better mussels in France and Cot'D'Azur both as sea food and as recipe cooked. The buffet was a good choice but some of the food was reheated...and some food offered on the buffet most probably was from the previous day cooked. On everything else was average. I’m skeptical to recommend it.
It is rare that I find a buffet where everything was super tasty, especially to my taste, and I tasted it all! Lots of fresh, fresh seafood and a good variety of sauces to play with. Good ingredients make good meals.It seems that we have...entered the age of the buffet, and while many of these are restaurants of enormous capacity, this is a close, friendly one, small enough to feel local and roomy enough for us to enjoy ourselves and share thoughts with neighbors.
