First time I came in October I was really disappointed with the service but decided to give it another try because the food is amazing. The change is incredible, the staff are so attentive and I enjoyed my dining experience. Note: they did add a 10% service charge.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They greeted us quickly and we got seated quickly however we had to ask for menus. Drinks were on the pricy side £9.50 for an Aperol Spritz. The food was of good quality and came well presented. They did ask us if we wanted some water for the table, to my mind I thought this would be free tap water, however they charged us for a large bottle of water. Also there is a 10% service charge at the end of the bill. I didn't particularly agree with this as there were only two of us and they never asked us to put it on the bill.
Absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere was beautiful, and the staff were both friendly and welcoming. But the food—wow! We shared a cutting plate and some broth and oil for our starter among four of us, and there was plenty left over; it was huge! Everything on the plate was delicious. The main courses were all cooked to perfection and had generous portion sizes. The limoncello shot at the end was a lovely touch. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We'll definitely be back!
Salvi was previously a fan of the John Dalton Street location, so they were really disappointed when it closed during the pandemic. Unfortunately, they haven't had the chance to visit the original restaurant yet! The new restaurant at the Corn Exchange is more compact, but there's also a Deli/Shop on top that offers a variety of delicious Italian treats. The staff is friendly, and the food is absolutely tasty—it's great comfort food! They would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine!
