Rbg - Manchester

My daughter and I had been in Nu Spa all afternoon enjoying the pool and spa. The chap on the reception desk in the spa was lovely and after we saw the weather outside and worried about going in to town for tea he suggested the Park Hotel restaurant. We were given a 25% discount card after being recommended from the spa. It is such a shame, as the restaurant is well placed and modern with an attractive wine bar and nice decor and atmosphere. Sadly the service was a little disappointing, we were left waiting to be acknowledged when we arrived and then had to attract a waitresses attention to be shown to a table along with another couple who had arrived just after us. We ordered drinks and food and waited 25 minutes for something to arrive, and this only arrived after I had asked at the bar for our drinks. The food followed but my daughter’s soup was missing from the order and when it arrived it was minestrone rather than leek and potato. But she just ate it and said it was tasty. The food was actually very nice and there was a good choice on the menu, hence four stars. It was just the service that appeared a little disorganised. Our waitress was friendly and welcoming and when I did not recognise Burrata Cheese with my salad she was pleasant and chatted with us for a minute. We paid the bill and left, as we walked past the bar we said good night but no one bid us farewell or thanked us for our custom. Basic courtesy.

Had an overnight stay and grabbed a chicken Caesar salad and a glass of Pinot for dinner and it was lovely. The service was great thank you Anna! X

A one night stay for a spa pamper and little local choice decided to eat in the restaurant. Nachos came without the chilli beef redone quickly, have to say. Mains choices limited. Beetroot and halloumi burger quite dry chips flat not crispy. Suggested they had sat waiting being kept warm? Presentation ok, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast next morning not HOT. Items steaming as if very hot when selected but by the time I'd reached the table tasted cold, shame. Table was cleared of water and plates too quickly when getting another piece of toast!

We visited the restaurant after our spa treatment in the hotel. We had an offer voucher so it seemed convenient for us to eat here and the settings are lovely and modern. The service was excellent although there was quite a long wait for food and it wasn't busy so we didn't understand why? We opted for the burger which was dry with not enough sauce and overdone, the chips were good though. It was a basic meal and reasonably priced. We just expected more because the restaurant settings are so nice. Recommend eating elsewhere in Manchester if you do the hotel spa day.

Touch to put in the few words allowed. Breakfast was terrible. Hot food is supposed to be just that. Only ate a tiny amount as I didn't fancy being poorly for Christmas. Shocking!! We certainly will not be returning.
