John's Pizza Works - MAMMOTH LAKES

We ordered an all meat pizza, caesar salad and fries... we got burned meat pizza... not a nice dinner after a 5 hour drive

This place gets busy, but worth the wait, sometimes. Tonight they had people staying at tables forever, and not even ordering. Employees were courteous, customer went off with profanity in front of a LOT of kids (including his two). Employees handled it amazingly. Food is always great, and plenty of tv 's and things to entertain kids as well. Always a go-to place when we are in town.

This was our first visit to John's Pizza Works. We heard good things about the pizza and had to try. We love our pizza. I wish I would have ordered a second one to GO.... The beer selection is great and cold. The staff was on it, checking in and refilling our drinks before they were empty. The pizza was cooked perfectly, with a great crust, the seasoning and fresh ingredients are cut to the perfect size to cook thoroughly making a delicious pie. Nicely done.

Interior decorations are classic and cool, but the bartenders have a bad attitude which ruins the experience. Pizza was okay, but at the price, might as well go somewhere with better pizza and much better service. I won’t go again. I first shared my story with a couple locals who have lived here for years, and they laughed and said they don’t go here anymore for the same reasons. A real pity because I wanted to like it and I don’t like giving bad reviews. If you do go, stay on the family friendly side with the arcade. It seems like there is a cultural division between that side and the bar side which puts them in competition with each other so don’t even consider ordering a takeout pizza and then having a beer while you wait . It’s clear the bartending staff are more bitter and sour than skunked beer, steer clear.

The food and service were amazing at this establishment. The pizza was very savory and just a good eat. And the service was exemplary. Especially Hector, he provided an amazing atmosphere and a welcoming vibe to the place. All in all just a good place to eat at and relax while in mammoth. 10/10 recommend.
