Bidra med feedbackEl Puente de Ma-Li is our new favorite spot in Malinalco. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and has ample seating inside and outside in the garden. They have a varied menu that includes many delicious and unexpected choices, such as pasta with homemade pesto. The entrees are accompanied by perfectly cooked fresh vegetables. They have a extensive selection of wine, which is unusual in a small Mexican town. The service is excellent. I have food allergies/sensitivities and the waiter was more than happy to run back and forth several times to get details from the chef about different dishes. The desserts are by far the best we have had anywhere in Malinalco. Be sure to save room for flan and a cappuccino. Our only regret is that we didn't find El Puente de Ma-Li months ago!
Any type of fondues you can imagine, good wines at reasonable prices. Owner is always there so service is impecable.
The restaurant was absolutely lovely. It's owned by an American woman, and her Mexican-American son, and they've done a fantastic job of decorating, hiring a great chef, and hiring greater waiters. They accommodated children very nicely. Excellent.
Hidden GEM! Its understated facade along the downtown strip of home/restaurant/shop fronts really makes this stop a hidden gem, and you may just happen upon on it. Opening up into a homelike library brunch/lunch setting, the next door leads you out into a beautiful garden patio for outdoor seating, and even a small rooftop balcony if you'd like to savor with a view! The owner is an English speaking man, who personally serves, and makes sure that every last detail of his staff and chefs is attended to--from the food temperature to the presentation and you feel like a taster on Top Chef* as the dishes and courses are being served.
The first time we just returned from Switzerland and hesitated to enter into a fondue restaurant in a small village in Mexico, we did it and we never regretted, it was great. The fondue, the service, the food (like pizza and small other salads) like in Switzerland. We just came back a week ago with friends it was really great! nothing was left. (The only thing they should care better is the toilet cleaning which suffers from some negligence - should be easily corrected! a bit more attention.
