Bidra med feedbackNice (hidden) beach restaurant with good seafood and fish. Try to have a table near the water. Calamar plancha is excellent!
The surroundings are not elaborate, but the food is simple and good and the clientele are locals. The antithesis of the usual Costa de Sol tourist stop. We asked for a recommendation and Antonio emerged from the kitchen with a sea bream to explain how it was cooked, packed with sea salt, on an olive wood fire. The sardines and bream were simple and excellent. After more than a week of decent, but nondescript meals, this was a revelation. If you’re after fine dining or whatever passes for it on the Costa del Sol give this place a miss. If you’re interested in simple, well prepared seafood which Spaniards themselves eat it’s well worth a visit.
I have eaten here before. I actually walked to here from Malaga almost 16 kms. I had planned a long walk. I had breakfast late and on my way here I passed dozens of typical restaurants but resisted as I knew this one would be worth waiting for. I arrived around 16.00 and the owner himself Antonio was serving. I ordered the fish soup which was excellent, some muscles and boguerones with some french fried. I had a bottle of Casera lemonade, desert (Tart a Whiskey) and a coffee. Less than 23 Euros which is cheap but also expensive for Spain. A really great location, great service and a great place to eat.
