Sweet Retreat Cafe - Maitland

The restaurant had a very cozy atmosphere and the food was nicely presented. We had the gourmet burger, chicken Caesar salad, and iced coffee. The burger was delicious, although it did not come with fries and had a strawberry instead (which was unusual). The Caesar salad had loose leaf lettuce (not romaine) and could have used more dressing. It was a bit bland (could use some anchovies). The iced coffee was generous and had a strong flavor. The prices were reasonable and the service was friendly and efficient.

Sat in a comfy throne-like chair and demolished the best waffles I've ever had. I loved the food and the decor, and the person who served us was lovely. Easy five stars.

The café is lovely, with incredibly pleasant staff. The service was prompt, but the pancakes were slightly tough.

What lovely staff. Could not do enough for our group of disabled residents. What an asset to Maitland mall. Thank you sweet retreat!

The delicious coffee cakes are visually appealing and my daughter opted for a large cookie.
