Altstadtcafé - Mainz

When I walked through the old town, I came past the old city café by chance and dared the step over the threshold and was not disappointed, but pleasantly surprised. the service saw me coming and was immediately in place and asked for my wish. a cup of coffee for € 1.80, you need to look for it today. the cake looked like myself made and I ordered a piece of carrot cake that also tasted me. When learning the menu (only informatiw), the water came together in my mouth, because there are sweets, breakfast, all kinds of small things and everything to be fair. I believe there are many students here and the prices are therefore cheaper. there are current daily newspapers and you can really feel comfortable here, no street noise, no traffic outside the door.

The old town café is located in the beautiful Mainz city. if the weather is allowed, you can also sit outside. small snacks, drinks of all kinds and also a very tasty and recommended breakfast are offered. in addition, in several booklets are always available for the old city café, more detailed for breakfast.

We have become aware of the old city café through the beautiful little loop. we were there for breakfast and have to say we were thrilled. the breakfast was great and the selection was quite large and varied. it took forever until we had our breakfast - an operation would be from the date - but it was great for it. we went out of the café at a reasonable price. the old city café is centrally located in a side street of the old town of Mainzer and very good for walking. prices are also suitable for students.

Quite different from the photos that indicate that the café is more with its beaten marble, colorfully coveted by the bulky chairs and other wildly cunning decoration. the rolls and the baguette for breakfast were anything but fresh. the croissant had been crimped almost black. also the sausage and the paste as well as the cheese on the cellar were partly dried, no longer completely fresh and partly had a blowing mistaste. the coffee tasted scratch and unaromatic. the best was after I had been gassed to me last time, I and my wife have heard the following dialogue on my bite-semmel: can the semmel be back? No, that's mad, but just once. No, that's not possible. at least for baked goods and other foods there seems to be a real resurrection hope here?! there are two stars only for the very friendly owner who also serves. Your dog seems to be deeply depressed. The poor!
