Bidra med feedbackThis is the second time I came over here for some Com Tam. We ordered the Com Tam Pork Chop with Shrimp. The meat was tender. Shrimps were cooked just right. I usually pour their sauce over my rice (try it)..The food hit the spot. Delicious broken rice! Their foods great. A must to try
Albeit I grew up eating at this location, I always love it here. Waiting for a solid sized table (about 6 people) never really takes longer than 10 minutes, and the service is top notch. I never have to wave down a waiter/waitress to take our order, and our food comes out in minutes. While I myself don't enjoy the chili in the fish sauce (my siblings call me crazy) their fish sauce is still one of the best in Westminster, if not all of SoCal. I highly recommend coming to this place as it's a very fast and delicious joint to grab some Broken Rice!My opinions on the Broken Rice options:BBQ Pork: I believe that this is the Magnum opus of Thanh Restaurant, as it is one of few places that serves this with a sauce, which brings a lot of flavor to the dish. BBQ Pork Chop: Great for eating in person, and the taste is amazing! Its only drawback is that unlike the BBQ Pork, it does not have a sauce, albeit still full of flavor. BBQ Chicken: Personally I'm not a fan, but for chicken lovers or those seeking a healthier option this will be on the same level as the BBQ Pork. BBQ Beef: Again like the BBQ Pork Chop, I wish it was saucy. Otherwise quality and taste is on point with the others. Egg Pork Cake: In comparison to other Broken Rice Restaurants, I believe this one tops them all. Mainly because it doesn't have mushrooms (I'm not a big fan of mushrooms). Julienne Pork: A great side dish to go along with a meat of your choice. Albeit is slightly bland, the fish sauce pairs perfectly with it. Makes a great second meal if you order a large to go dish with the side of the Julienne Pork. Make sure though to keep it cold! Chinese Sausage: A fried version of this Costco classic. What more needs to be said? (yum)The other Broken Rice dishes I unfortunately cannot try due to my allergies to seafood, But I have heard good things about the BBQ Shrimp with the red sauce. All in all, a solid choice for those looking to try Broken Rice, and those looking for amazing taste. Do note that they now take card! No American Express though.
Definitely one of Westminster's hole-in-the walls. It's tucked away in an unassuming corner, and the interior is something you'd expect from a typical Vietnamese restaurant. But the food is incredible. I was craving com tam, so I decided to give Thanh a try, and it did not disappoint.I got the com tam plate with bi, cha, thit nuong, and tau hu ky. Everything was really well-seasoned, the colors were bright, and the portion size was really great for the price. I left really stuffed. Also, the staff were really warm. All of the ladies that I interacted with were really kind and radiated great vibes. The service was also efficient and fast. Definitely give them a try if you're craving com tam!
Broken rice dishes are very good and a lot of combinations.
I've been eating here for years with my family but we haven't been back in a while until recently. We were seated upon entry. Depending on where you're seated there might be another group next to you in a long table. Feels like you're hostage to conversations but what can you do when sitting next to strangers basically. I had the Com Tam Thit Nuong Cha. I love that the rice plate comes with a soup. I highly recommend the broken rice dishes. You should also ask for extra sauces or non-spicy sauce once your food gets to your table because it's not likely the servers will return after. The meat is well-seasoned and is charred a bit but not burnt. There's gacha machines in the back for a dollar if you want to try your luck at getting a trinket. Once you're done eating, you can go ahead and pay at the register. Also recommend getting take-out for a meal the day after.
