Muramoto Downtown - Madison

Muramoto is an excellent place to get sushi and Japanese small plates. I highly recommend getting the Tempura King's Cream with muffled bear sauce when available. All I've ever had is fantastic. I have a black cod that is a highlight. They have an amazing dessert that is a strawberry spring roll and ginger ice cream. All their cocktails are good and they have a wide selection of wine. The restaurant is in a great location and the staff is attentive and delightful. I used to do and everything you can eat Sushi Night, which was very fun and tested the limits of our stomach. I don't think they do that anymore. I know they also opened a location in Hilldale, which I didn't think it was as good as downtown.

1 week living in a new city, and I'm so glad I stumbled across this place! The sushi is outstanding some of the freshest fish I have had in Wisconsin. They have a large sushi menu, prices are standard and the rolls are HUGE. Between my girlfriend and I we typically eat 4 rolls. Here, was can barely finish 3! If you are gluten free, they do offer gluten free soy sauce! Inside decor is cute it's definitely an smaller more intimate place. Lots of reclaimed wood. Cute spot for a date or dinner with friends. HIGHLY recommend. Plus, it's in a great area of downtown Madison.

Our favorite upscale sushi restaurant in Madison. I hope they open up soon! Small and intimate space...great for a date night. Really tasty rolls and interesting specialty rolls, on the pricier side but definitely worth it.

Wonderful, friendly team of staffs and many delicious food options to choose from. They have traditional Japanese style sushi as well as vibrant Japanese-Western fusion sushi options. Muramoto often also has new seasonal menu items that are worth keeping an eye out for. The restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a dinner date or a special outting with family and friends. If possible, I recommend making reservations if you plan to go on the weekend.

Great sushi and sashimi place in Madison downtown. This was first place to visit this location. But they well done the quality control almost same as the other location in hilldale mall. Sweet shrimp is good. Unagi is also good. But uni from hokaido Japan is fare. I dont think this was hokaido uni. Less fresh, less sweet and creamy than I expected. Service was also just fair.. That is why I want to grade only 4 star for this location. But many reason to expect to visit.
