Wilbur's Mill - Macomb

From the owner Lisa to the waiting staff, Magnolia's confidence and fun radiates. Our group of six ate in the bar area on closing night for WIU. The owner fits us into a very busy night. She made a point to ask Jenna to pay special attention to our server. Jenna was deft and fast with the right service. The food is exceptional. We ordered groupers (with a j rub), salmon and lemon chicken with a house special lobster bisque and garlic crush red potatoes. The ducks and soup were excellent, the Veggie sides boiled a tad.

Decided to give Magnolia another attempt because we think it is important to support local businesses. My main rib had absolutely no juice soothed that it is rarely cooked medium... no juice on the plate or when I cut it. It was kind of hard and chewing. Lisa, the owner, floats around and speaks loudly with guests and employees. We gave Magnolia's last chance.

We were in Macomb to visit a wedding, Post Covid restrictions. It wasn't long enough to eat. Magnolias was recommended by locals. Had a reservation and sat right away. Waiting staff was very friendly, but could say that they all felt a little overwhelmed. Our waitress has forgotten to place our order on appetizers, but not a big deal. My husband got the fillet mignon and potatoes and really enjoyed it. I had the marinated salmon that was just fine. No dessert because we were too full. If we were ever back in the area, they'd probably make another attempt.

We had a wonderful meal in Magnolias! From salad to steaks everything was delicious! The owner and the staff we are very nice and friendly! We are out of town and wish Magnolias was close to us! We enjoyed the outdoor entertainment and had a nice family evening! Thank you. Lisa, you put us in and feel so welcome!

Wonderful food. Lobster mac is very good. Cajun calamari is also very good. We were a bit disappointed that the alligator bite were no longer a choice (that was a wonderful surprise from a visit a few years ago). Of course, the steaks are excellent! Service is still attentive.
