La Perle Caspienne - Lyon

There were 10 of us on a business trip & I wanted to try something a little bit different which was close to our hotel, found this restaurant and booked a table. Bit of a risk as with 10 people taste vary & I have never had food from Azerbaijan so did not know what to expect. There are only 28 tables in the restaurant and as there were 10 I decided to reserve a table. This was a good idea as the restaurant was full apart from our table when we arrived. Quite hard to describe the cuisine but it is a mixture of east meets west. The starters were similar to Indian mixed starters but had puff pastry and the mains were meat & vegetables cooked in a different way but without the sauce like a curry. The food is not spicy and I did add the lime pickle to my main course to give it a bit of zest. The waiter was very pleasant but he was on his own so the service was relatively slow but it was good value, especially having eaten in the main restaurant area in Lyon the night before which was nearly twice the price. Worth a visit if you are staying near Part-Dieu in Lyon.
