Rime Restaurant - Lunenburg

We stayed in this restaurant room before it was another restaurant and the atmosphere really felt alive, so I chose it for our anniversary dinner this year. Unfortunately we sat at the lower level and it really felt like something had disappeared from the environment. We were there quite early (6PM) because we wanted to take a “Ghost Walk” that met outside the restaurant at 7:30. I sent an earlier text to the restaurant and was told that this was not a problem. We sat right away and our pre-dinner drinks quickly came after. We had eaten a very late lunch and in the interest of time we decided to skip the appetizers and order only the main (plus cocktails and wine). We couldn't help but find that a few who had come in well 15 minutes after we got their appetizers and their main course before we even got our main course. It started to save too late and with only 40 minutes, we had not yet received our meals. I came up to ask how much longer it would be and was told that the kitchen went as fast as possible. It just seemed strange to say that, because there were hardly any other people in the restaurant at that time. A few minutes later we got our meals, but we felt like we had to hurry and couldn't order anything for dessert. The server offered, but at that time we only had 20 minutes to save and given how long the net arrived, we didn't want to risk it. All in all, it was not the most relaxing meal due to the lack of ambience and the 45 minutes it took to come for our food, although we explained that we had only 90 minutes and the restaurant was almost empty. The food was fine. I would probably decide to look for another location next time in Lunenburg. It was disappointing when we were really looking forward to this meal.

Rime is my favorite restaurant in Lunenburg a welcoming atmosphere with great service and absolutely delicious food!

We went to Rime with some friends. We were promptly greeted and seated at our table. Our server explained the menu and told us about the specials for the evening. The food was fantastic! Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. The atmosphere was excellent and the noise level was conducive to conversation. We all highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely return.

Beautiful music playing...great atmosphere...incredibly delicious soup...great wine..delicious fried chicken. Fantastic service and ambience..my dish with beef and scallops wasn’t very tasty. Not many choices on menu. Probably good to stick with haddock.

This was the best meal we had in our 3 week trip to Nova Scotia. The braised rabbit with homemade pasta was outstanding! Small menu but everything is delicious.
