Stanley's Ale House And In South Elg

I 've been wanting some chicken enchiladas for awhile and, the place I would usually get them (across from Gee n Jays in Elgin. Well, it 's not Gee n Jays anymore) they 've been way too spicy. So spicy that it 's ruined my meal. I do like spicy but, yeah. I was doing a Google search and, I thought I would try El Flaco 's Mexican Restaurant in South Elgin (used to be Stanley 's Bar &Grill). I placed an order to go and, I went with the chicken enchiladas with the green sauce and, they come with a side of rice and beans. This meal was very good! One great thing... they weren 't stingy with the rice and beans (like most places are). LOL So, I went in and ordered to go. My wait-person, Felicia was really nice. She asked if I was in the rewards club and, I said No, it 's my first time here. For signing up, she gave me a $10 gift certificate (which needs to be used within 10 days). Also, she threw in a FREE dessert of churros. She asked if I would like the churro bites or, the horchata bites or, a combo of the bites. I chose the combo so I could try the horchata bites. She also gave me a chocolate sauce as well as a caramel sauce! How nice!! One other thing, they have a Buy One Combo (meal) Get One Free. It 's only an eat-in deal and, you must buy at least one drink. I think that 's a great deal. I 'll be going back for that as well as to use my $10 certificate

I love this place. Inside is bright and vibrant! Food is amazing!!!!! Tastes so good! Great portion size! Red, white, and blue frozen margarita is delicious!!!! I will be back!!!

Who doesn’t love chips and salsa before dinner? Margaritas are amazing too and the shrimp tacos are the way to go!

The owners take great pride in everything they do. The lovely fish tacos had full perfectly spiced filets. If you want generous portions and delicious food come here.

I really like the new menu options. And of course, the always-changing beer options. Great to have some Mexican beers to go with the food, but still having other options chicken, a burger, or just shooting pool. Greg H.
