Bidra med feedbackIt seems very common that most Italian restaurants use the same masterprint on their menus, because they are all too interchangeable with the same pasta, pizza and antipasti arsenal. Located right on the Trave in Travemünde, however, in September 2018, the Casa Grande had given me the hope to be able to enjoy the Mediterranean cuisine in a variety of forms. The restaurant extending over several levels of its own modern villa can really be called a giant compared to many rather small Trattoria. The full glazing results in a beautiful natural illumination at day. On the ground floor there is also a free seat. Inside the restaurant is furnished with modern furniture and numerous wine bottle shelves are nicely decorated. A “original Italian” flair may seem to be less likely to come up, for which the hip-hop music in the background did not exactly contribute, but it is easy to eat here anyway. The regular menu is, of course, based on the well-known and usual Italian offer in Germany. But as mentioned, the special card of the recommendation of the House was an interesting addition to me. From this I wanted to try the scallops on Red-Bete-Carpaccio with truffle foam. Scallops on Red-Bete-Carpaccio with truffle foam The scallops were really very small specimens. Even in the retail sector, you get more powerful TK goods. In their preparation, however, with beautiful roasted aromas and still glazed core, nothing was great to mecker. The truffle foam was probably prepared with truffle oil. Although it actually corresponded to a foam from its consistency, it had a clearly perceptible truffle aroma missing for my taste. Also at the Red Bete Carpaccio I would have liked a somewhat more intense typical earthy taste of this vegetables. To this end, some ciabatta was sufficient, which was admittedly already very solid and slightly dry. €14.9 are a house number for such an appetizer portion and must also be justified in view of the very clear portion size with really high product quality and taste. This was not exactly the case in my eyes here. The staff of the service acted professionally, although somewhat distant for my feeling. A little more cordiality and open-mindedness, as the Italians actually know, would have been desirable. In my eyes, the Casa Grande does not really differ qualitatively from the standard Italians mentioned at the beginning. Above all, the location and the ambience appear to be added to the prices.
