Barres Brauwelt - Lübbecke

We once tried Schnitzel Buffet and once Sparerib's Buffet. A disaster. Schnitzel tasted worse than in the school canteen. Only croquettes, roast potatoes and two sauces. So, unfortunately, all finished products. Spareribs left. Unfortunately only herbal salad and dried bread. Also here unfortunately not fresh. The operation is completely overwhelmed. They wait for drinks so long that I have always ordered two at the same time. Spareribs were only refilled very slowly, so you had bad luck again because they were immediately gone. I haven't eaten so bad a long time. We definitely don't go there anymore.

A warm welcome in the Gummy Tresor, with a well brewed beer as you choose it, was a good impression. The one-hour guided tour of the brewery museum was very detailed and the many exhibits: Braukessel, old steam engine, many original features and photos or documents testify to the high quality of the Barre family. Once again there was a beer tasting and a defensive Schmalzstulle we can recommend the private brewery Barre or Barre's brewing world.

The restaurant in Barres Brauwelt is a beautiful rustic and cozy but very dark place. The ambience fits perfectly with a typical brewery place and above all with the versatility of decoration, which consists of all kinds of brewery. As regards food and beverages, the selection is not excessively creative or versatile, but very appealing. We were there for breakfast on Sunday, which is nicely prepared, but a little more choice could definitely not hurt. Nevertheless, everything is available, which necessarily belongs to a good breakfast, such as a sufficient selection of rolls, small croissants, cold cuts and cheese. I especially like the rolls that are freshly baked and have a really good quality. But also the fresh waffle vinegar or the delicious fruit salad make a really good impression and taste accordingly good. However, I lacked other sweets, margarine and a little more salad to perfect the otherwise quite round impression. For me, however, the weak point of the service was quite slow and very attentive. For example, the waffleless was initially refilled and the juice was also emptied several times without being filled. This would be possible more precisely because, for example, we were not even asked if we wanted something, not even when we arrived at the restaurant. In other words, the possibility of ordering coffee specialities also demanded their own use; but overall a beautiful place with original charm that will delight lovers of classic German cuisine.

After a long time we were back in Barres Brauwelt: The menu had changed somewhat. We were very disappointed at the end: not really regional dishes. Also disappoints the quality: salads drowned in cream sauce, pork medals hard and fibrous; what was called on the menu roast potatoes was far away! In short, a culinary low point.

Great food, delicious beer. Wonderful ambience. It's all right. Absolutely recommended!!
