Enoteca Vanni - Lucca

I've been to this place maybe 5 or 6 times. I really wanted to like it because as orhers have posted, the meats and cheeses are wonderful. But as of yesterday, I'm done. The females are nice, the males are awful. Rude rude rude. They always have been every single time. Last night, I never got the glass of wine I asked for so I just left. I'm not going back. Other places have great meats and cheeses. It's Italy after all.

A great wine bar to stop at in the afternoon for an aperitivo. The wait staff are very kind and helpful and always provide interesting recommendations of wines to try. Spectacular wines at reasonable prices, service excellent, charcuterie is well above average, which in Lucca, is quite an accomplishment considering the competition. We love not only eating indoors/outdoors, but shopping for hard to find wines next door. Simone is a friendly, down to earth, magnificent sommelier.
