Nonno Mariano is very well known in the Lucca area, and is in a strategic position along the Brennero road. After my recent experience I can only confirm the goodness of the opinions received in the past. The simple and good dishes, together with the fast service and the kindness of the staff, make you feel truly at home. A bit like I was staying with my grandparents, in fact. I really appreciated the mixed starters, and my artichoke risotto: simple and delicate. The cut, as well as the other first and second courses, looked really inviting. In any case, highly recommended. A traditional, family-run establishment with a closed and heated veranda. It is possible to eat pizza or even traditional starters, first and second courses. The cured meats we tried were of excellent quality, the aubergine parmigiana was good. Along with the appetizers they also serve you a hot flatbread. The pizza, a Neapolitan one, is average. The craft beer we tried was good. Homemade dessert, tart, very good! Good value for money!
