The Keep - Lowell

I've been here with my man and friends a lot. each individual visit was a positive experience. eating is unique and tasty, the cocktails are amazing and the personal is always welcoming and attentive. usually this place has a very cool mood and that keeps us back!

Where should I begin? Ah yes, located off the beaten path, The Keep, or as one of its bartender’s calls it; The Castle, is arguably the most complete bar in the city of Lowell. Where else can you occasionally find a sought after dram like Pappy Van Winkle, Weller, Birthday Bourbon, and other rare whiskeys for such amazing prices. Where else can you find such sought after rare beers such as the Run the Jewels collaboration with yankee the brave. Have I even mentioned the cocktails yet?!? Where else can you get a beautifully curated cocktail that’s either on menu or one made to suit your palate…. Name a local place, don’t worry, I’ll wait. Add all of these up and throw in some innovative comfort food (Lowell’s original brick chicken, gumbo, and the best god damn wings ever) and you have a diamond in the rough. I’ve been going to The Keep since they’ve opened and the vibe there is unmatched; undefeated! The dimmed lights?! The way the candles flicker in the background?!? The way the music seems to gradually change in tempo and genre as the night progresses? What?! It all adds to the experience that no other bar in the city has mastered. I know it’s not advertised as a music venue, but their rotating list of DJs easily puts everyone else to shame. I also love how they’ve become a melting pot for the community, you can walk in and see all types of people, they do a wonderful job making everyone feel comfortable, something that is hard to do. Other places want to create a vibe, The Keep is a VIBE.

Welcoming, attentive and very pleasant staff. A brilliantly curated menu, the food and cocktails are explained and created thoroughly and every time we have been we have a better experience than the last. A wonderful place to try, you’ll love it and become a regular as everyone does! 5 stars!

I frequent The Keep for many reasons. One, being the atmosphere. It’s great for a romantic date or even a small “Linner” with friends. Two, the drinks alone tell a story with the description and taste, especially if you’re an espresso martini connoisseur. And three, I love food, and they’ve got the best wings in Lowell, as well as an amazing burger and rib eye. Never have I been disappointed with a visit to The Keep.

Absolutely amazing cocktails, it looks like a dive bar outside but it is nice inside. Love the monthly UK garage night they allow to happen. It has bands and other entertainment booked regularly too!
