Bidra med feedbackYummy! We had Phillies and meatball sandwiches, ghetto fries and onion rings.
2nd time(prob last time)8-28-2024 So, I decidee to stop in. Cuban sounded good for dinner. I ordered 2 of them. MUCH smaller this time, also using CHEAPER rectangle ham. (See newer photos). Cuban last time was filling up big square container, this time are the half size rectangle containers. Same price. Less food. It is what it is. 1st time here, 3-20-2024. I have seen them in their purple shack for a while. Noticed they weren't there anymore. Found they'd moved into shopping center behind. We had Big Dave's Philly, Cuban Sandwich, reg fries and spicy cheese balls. Food was ready fast, it was just after opening. When I arrived back to the office (10min drive) food was still warm. Cuban was great, definitely recommend it. Boss said that the Big Dave's Philly was great until the last few bites, grease saoking into bread. (Kind of expected with that type food). Fries were ok, basic fries, they were mostly stuck together . Boss had cheese balls, they were different than he'd expected, fine just small, he ate them all though.
Excerpt taken from an email: There's an amazing spot called Gorilla Bob's that's a huge comfort to me and a lot of people I know. They have a lot to offer but if I had to try and summarize it in one line, I'd say it's rich comfort food you feel in your soul when you eat it. They mostly do sandwiches; Rubens, Cubans, and Phillys (with Cheez Wiz! but my favorite of theirs is the hot brown. It's a staple in Kentucky but I never had one before Bob's, and I've been in love with it ever since. Like most dishes there, you can get it loaded on fries which is what I always go for when I can afford eating out. It's such a treat to me when I'm feeling down, it always makes my day. They also offer a front for people to get free meals, which paired with how often they have discounts and vouchers really makes me feel like they care about the community around them. They fundraise for others very often, and are very friendly faces to anyone that comes it. I always feel at home in their company, even in the days when they operated out of a little shack on the side of the road.
The last two times I've been there for the Hot Browns their not making them the same way as normal. Both times somethings been wrong. No cheddar ontop this time and bacon wasn't cooked an not enough sauce. I don't mind paying the price for these when their made right because they are normally delicious.
Gorilla Bobs was nice and would try it again but the Hot Brown was not my favorite though in all honesty I have nothing to compare it too(only one I have ever had)…I think the bacon was not cooked enough for me, but again my tastes and other than that it was very good. My husband got the Cuban Sandwich which he said was good but prefers it when the chicken is smoked or grilled. It was a fun and clean atmosphere. Staff very friendly and helpful.
