Bidra med feedbackThe burgers here are pretty good we could use more seasoning on the meat. My burger was a bit undercooked. These burgers are very similar to Five Guys burgers, but there's more variety of toppings and cheeses available here. Great service and friendly staff.
A local Louisville chain that is much like 5 Guys, however, they add extras to their menu. You have more options for toppings and other sides. The kids and I were travelling through and wanted burgers and shakes. Home Run Burgers came up on Yelp and it fit the bill. We were there during an off time as so had plenty of time to order. The staff was patient and answered our questions. Once we ordered they started preparing our meals. The side salad came with onion noodles which were made fresh. Overall, a good burger joint.
When I 'm in the mood for a good burger, Home Run is on my short list of burger joints. They are a casual spot to grab a quick lunch or dinner with my family. To mesh with the Home Run theme, workers will state batter up! when you enter the door. They also have baseball theme decor and burger names. You will find burger specialties but I prefer to do my own selection of toppings up to 25!! A single patty is sufficient (that double is a lot of meat). I also love their fries, which you order separately. Burgers are also on the kids meals and for when they aren 't in the mood for one, chicken tenders. My boys have big appetites though and the chicken tenders only offer (2) strips. Watch for coupons Groupons to save a few dollars.
BURGERS! FISH!! ROLLED OYSTERS!!! The burgers are awesome... No way you can deny that. With an abundance of toppings, of your choice, you order it exactly the way you want it. Then comes the surprise, fried cod and rolled oysters! You can order a one piece sandwich or a two-piece sandwich, on a white bun or a rye bun. The fish is fresh, breaded before your eyes and deep fried. The one piece sandwich only is $4.99 and the one piece fish and chips is $5.99. So I chose the one-piece fish sandwich and add to that a luscious rolled oyster. Great idea!! Yes, once again, they take the Oysters and bred them before your eyes, and deep fry to perfection. They are served with oyster crackers and as much cocktail sauce as you like. Yes, skipping the fries was an easy choice for me. Not to slight the fresh-cut french fries but you can easily share one order. I have had much better luck at this location, in Saint Matthews, versus the location on Hurstbourne Parkway. Logan, in Saint Matthews is there to please! He does a fine job and will accommodate your needs. Easy parking.
First time visiting Home Run Burgers and I was absolutely pumped to try it out. Girlfriend practically raves about this place and I can definitely see why. It's got it's certain vibe to it, from the second you walk in to when you walk out. Our experience there today was fairly average. Ordering the food was actually easy, painless and fairly quick. We did the 2 for 10 burger deal they only offer on Thursdays. I ordered the Bases Loaded Burger single stack and asked for it to not have the grilled onions. It took a good amount of time to get our food and when it arrived they forgot to leave out the onions in my burger. Not a huge deal, I'm fairly used to removing them myself. They also severely over seasoned the fries, once mid way down the fries were almost inedible which was a bummer because the ones on the top were very good. There ranch had a very strange taste to it, almost like it had gone bad and it also had a weird texture as well. The burger itself was fairly average, not great but also not bad. I'd say it was solid, definitely a tad bit better than what you would get at a fast food like Wendy's or McDonald's. For a place called Home Run Burgers and Fries I literally want their burgers to be a home run. I want them to knock me off my feet as I run around the bases to home plate. But that's not what we got. It won't fully hinder a return but I'll definitely think about alternatives for my burger needs.
