Cottage Inn - Louisville

I had high expectations on Cottage Inn based on previous reviews that mentioned them having the best fried chicken in town. Portions are HUGE and presentation was OK but the food was bland. We got the fried pork chop meal with mashed potatoes and corn bread, a chicken blt sandwich and fries, a fried chicken meal with mash potatoes and collard greens and a kids grilled cheese and corn. I also had a sweet tea which was not sweet. The cornbread was a cupcake. It wasn’t like cornbread at all but like a very sweet and fluffy cake. One order of masked potatoes was supposed to be without gravy but had gravy anyway. The chicken was fried well but had no flavor. The collard greens were not fresh or seasoned well and may have been from out of a can. Once we added some condiments to the food it was enjoyable enough and we did eat a good portion of our food. Our server, Melissa was trying her best to provide good service but she dropped the ball a few times. Our child was coloring a little rough with one of two crayons they provided with his kids menu and Melissa stopped in the middle of taking our order to tell us that they only have a few crayons in the house and would appreciate it if our toddler didn’t ruin them. The space was very tight where we were sat and we were very close to the bathroom but we did get to sit by a big window with a beautiful view of the front yard so that was enjoyable. Maybe they were having an off day but overall, we will not be back.

Cute little stop we happened to visit when I googled Hot brown near me. Don 't question anything, just go here and eat. I ordered a Hot brown, it came with a side. It 's December, and they had fried green tomatoes!! Both were delicious!

Great chicken livers and mashed potatoes @green beans!! Heard they were going to start breakfast next week!! Can't wait!!

On the day we were there for dinner, they were out of several items on the menu and sides. They were out of all slices of cake and most pies. Was a bit disappointing. We had pork chop,chicken fried steak, mashed potato(super stiff) and green beans. Food was ok.. Tables stayed filled. Seating is tight between tables.

Best home cooked food and amazing service! The fried chicken is a must!!
