Maiella Lic - Long Island City

Our server was great! She was attentive and very nice. However, the other staff that we interacted with were a bit aggressive. The bussers were training someone new it seems as they were giving the new guy directions very obviously at our table while clearing. They told us the kitchen was closing at 8:30 and then were very eager to clear our plates. Just made it feel like they didn’t want us there. We were given one fork for dessert between 4 of us.

Possibly one of my favorite restaurants ever. every dish is amazing and staff is so wonderful- multiple people will come over and service you even if it isnt their table. 1 thing i will say is their drinks are $20 and 80% ice LOL. but even the drinks are insane. besides that this is a favorite for me

The food and ambiance are nice. But too dark, too crowded, and too noisy. Staffs are nice but hard to catch. The food was delicious but it took so long. (We went in around 8:20 pm. and came out around 10:15 pm. If I ever go back, I would go around 5 pm to avoid food delays and sit outdoors to have a conversation over a meal.

We were very impressed with the food. We sampled several of the appetizers; the meatballs, shrimp oreganata, the burrata and Caesar salad-all were excellent. Same for the mains-the pastas were al dente and the table side preparation was excellent. The chicken parm was delicious as was the bronzino. The desserts, flan, chocolate cake and affogato were top notch. The only problem was that the wait between the appetizers and the main was very long as we had ordered a pizza for the table to be served after the appetizers and before the mains. The pizza never came out. However this glitch was not so significant as to keep us from returning.

Great food and great service! Loved the pizza, fresh pasta the chicken parmigiana.
