What a gem in Long Beach!! This restaurant is passion driven by its owner chef Matt Hisiger — that passion is reflected in every dish we ordered. The beet and pear salad was divine in its simplicity and subtlety. The shrimp carbonara was nothing I’ve ever had and by far the best I’ve tasted — the ingredients were fresh and every tastebud was assaulted!! And to top it all their staff Danielle spoilt us with her attention to detail and in pampering our pup with hugs and a bowl of ice cold water … – show
Good was average, prices very high, too crowded, too noisy
Three of us stopped in for dinner. This place has a welcoming atmosphere and a comfortable, casual ambience. I had the Grilled Skirt Steak, broccoli rabe, whipped potatoes, and chimichurri. I didn't enjoy the broccoli rabe, but I was not familiar with that, so it may be just not to my taste (I do like broccoli, but this was too bitter for me). But the steak and potatoes were delicious. I would like to return and see if I could get a substitute on the vegetable. The service was perfect!
So first time being there and the outside seating was right in the street felt like I would be seated next to a taco truck and for a place that was trying to be a little uppers scale it didn't fit. I will say that the servers were very friendly and helpful and meal portions were filling. If I can offer one word, the ricotta that is served with the bread had an odd combination of horseradish and honey. Unfortunately it did not work at all.
