Bidra med feedbackThe patio here is GORGEOUS. It's a super nice spot for a date night. I came here after a park day with fellow restaurant coworkers. The skordalia was garlicky, like the dip should be! We also enjoyed the saganaki, the flaming cheese! The coworkers also appreciated their pasta dishes and sandwiches. Gregory also provided quick service which is always a plus. Thanks for your great service!
Lots of outdoor seating available, which was lovely. The falafel that I ordered was pretty dry and was missing a wow factor. Unfortunately, there was a hair in my dish. When I showed it to my server, he didn 't apologize... he just said he would get me a new dish. When the check came, I was still charged the full amount so I asked my server about it. He responded, you got a new dish. He later asked his manager about it and gave me a discount on it. My friend is vegan, which is one of the major reasons I chose this restaurant. She chose a falafel platter off the vegan menu, but her salad still came out with feta cheese on top. Our server was able to bring a new salad out without the cheese, but charged for another salad... After pointing this out, we were able to get the double charge knocked off the tab. I love Mediterranean food so I really wanted to love this restaurant, but the service was very questionable. I don 't think I can recommend this place.
Cute little corner spot in Long Beach about three blocks at most from the water. My girlfriend just moved into the neighborhood last month and we walked over for dinner. It was a fun time that 's for sure! We got the flaming cheese (Saganaki) which was really nice and rich, highly suggest. As well as a visual show with the fire burning bright on top, opa! We tried one of the hummus starters but asked for a bit of a specialty; we wanted a mix of all the dips to try. We got a nice plate to try. We were the only ones there so it felt nice he had the time to cater to us. Of course I only got a few pictures but one of the dishes was the chicken platter. It was tasty, fresh, and the chicken was done so well. Lots of fresh salad and healthier options as you can see.
Subject Line: NEVER, EVER AGAIN. DEADFUL, DREAFUL EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dear Ambrosia, Regardless if you have a nice outdoor patio, firepits, flaming cheese, are dog-friendly and serve mimosas by the carafe, I don 't appreciate how you simply do the bare minimum. Negative feedback is one of your key tools to improving areas of your restaurant such as operations, food, and service. Take a look at your negative reviews and the lessons you can learn from them. I am updating this review from a 5 to a 1 due to poor service and poor management. I never cared before because I loved the ambiance and the food had drastically improved from the years prior. I 'd give kudos for that. You once had live music a couple nights a week and that alone kept me coming back. I 've always loved and rooted for Ambrosia, however I take it all back. I 've lived around the corner for thousands of years and after long work days Ambrosia was the first place that came to mind... even after you were shut down over lockdown/pandemic and the front entrance was infested with human fecal matter and left with broken glass all over the public sidewalk where I commonly walked my dog. AND WE ALL KNOW HOW LONG BEACH LOCALS FEEL ABOUT DOGS. We love them. We don 't want glass in their feet because you failed to care about your establishment. Yet I still returned and supported even after things were unapologetically over. The more I think about YOU in a nutshell, the sourness worsens. Ask yourself: Am I proud of this? This is like the ending of a boring, never-ending relationship with an ex. Try sucking a little less and put more genuine effort into your main source of survival. Don 't want to be there? Then make your exit. Or don 't. The choice is yours to exist merely on what you could be but you are too negative and lazy to do anything to change it. Last night was my last visit due to moving out of state and regardless even if that wasn 't the case I would never return again anyway. Your staff is always different which kept things interesting and conversations flowing. High turnover? Hmmm I wonder why. *INSERT PONDERING EMOJI HERE* (I 'm currently scratching my head anyway after termites fell on it while I sat there, waiting. So here 's the breaking point, last night we arrived around 8pm. You close at 9pm now even though Yelp still says 10pm, as well as most other informative Internet utility sites. No more than 1 or 2 tables sat. The best thing about you is that you 're always empty! Which you 'd think that due to that you would and would try a little harder? Nope. You made us feel like it was an inconvenience to be there at all. Your girl staff member even had the audacity to say You always come when we 're about to close ...at 8pm?.....the nerve! Anyway we got a beverage and an app and wanted to order food to go at 8:30pm, 30 minutes prior to their closing time. The short male server just kept passing us, cleaning tables and turning off the firepits. He wouldn 't even make eye contact with us or see if we wanted our bill or anything else. (Service can make or break a restaurant experience. I suggest training your servers to be their best. Once we finally ordered and he never returned again I got up to physically bring him the credit card so we could leave. I mentioned how poor the experience was and that there shouldn 't be a reason to be ignored when there was literally NO ONE ELSE THERE. I 'll leave it at that but if you 've ever wondered why you are always so DEAD then they should reflect on how you 're doing business. If you want satisfying rewards, you have to put in maximum effort. PLEASE. TRY. HARDER. Sincerely, The One Who Got Away
The weather was very inviting for a patio lunch. At one thirty, we had the patio to ourselves. Why sit inside? Emily, our charming server, took care of our requests, checked on us, seemed to have radar, with her perfect unintrusive timing. I wanted to try their U burger. Very tender and tasty, with added tomato, onion and ranch dressing, in no way did I consider this an ersatz anything. There is really no imitation blood oozing out the bun and not a hockey puckish patty as I have purchased in grocery stores. I 'll be curious to have an impossible burger elsewear just to compare. Nicely made fries. Bf 's moussaka seemed particularly good today. Just a gentle touch of cinnamon in the mixture. The accompanying Greek salad was very fresh, plump with feta and olives. The somewhat tough baklava was nothing to play a balalaika over but an adequate small sweet with which to finish lunch. Why do I get honey all over? When will I ever learn? Not star deductible. Ozzie dined on Sunday. I would have squealed for a photo. Foiled again! See his facebook page below.
